Staying

Staying: - hostels vs hotels
                - friends and family
Any tips and suggestions for staying cheap are welcome, and of course couch surfing when possible is much appreciated.

This is the page to add comments on any tips or advice to help me find cheap places to stay while out traveling, any and all help is greatly appreciated. You can always e-mail me if you would rather not make a public post at bobfnbarker81@gmail.com

*EDIT*

I have researched all over the internet; Reddit forums, different Google searches, travelers' blogs, anything I could. After the past year of having a few small trips and experiencing the stays myself I have found that pretty much everything written online in this department is right, hostels will win every time purely on cost, but if you're looking for a bit more than a place to crash, like some more reliable quiet and security, cleanliness, or just a nicer place stay, the hotel obviously wins. With prices as low as they are in Western Asia it's not much more the spend a little extra and go for a hotel but this isn't something I plan on doing much of. To be honest I'm really hoping to make connections on the way and be able to couch surf most of the time. I already have a number of friends I've made this past year that have reached out to me, I'm looking forward to meeting them and making more on the way. So anyone out there interested in hosting a Jiu-Jitsu backpacker, hit me up!

  1. *UPDATE*
This section is really down to researching where I'm going and being lucky enough to get offers from fellow jiu-jitsu folk. I've researched enough about hostels and hotels to get an idea for how to plan my trip in some areas. for now I'll just ley this section to rest until I start plotting my travel plan.
